LAURA SNOWDEN CLASSICAL MUSIC SERIES
Sunday 2nd December
Launching our new 'classical' music series, we're privileged to present Laura Snowden
Laura was the first guitarist to graduate from the world-renowned Yehudi Menuhin School, where guitar tuition was made possible by a donation from the Rolling Stones. She has given recent performances in Italy, Sweden, and Brazil. "A brilliant international career awaits her over the coming decade," says Classical Guitar Magazine.
Winner of first prize in the Volos International Guitar Composition Competition, Laura has played her own pieces live on BBC Radio 3. Her song Live Free was performed at over 300 simultaneous concerts in 60 countries for the charity Voices for Hospices. Laura's programme will include some of the most deeply expressive and technically difficult pieces in the guitar repertoire. She will play Bach's cello suite no.3, arranged by Julian Bream; Villa Lobos' five preludes; pieces by Regondi and Sor; and her own hauntingly beautiful composition Anpao.
"A poignant, mesmerising show". The Guardian.
