PIETRO FRESA - CLASSICAL MUSIC SERIES
Sunday 24th November
Born in Bologna in 2000, pianist Pietro Fresa has already won first place in twenty-five international competitions -- an achievement recognised with a special medal from the Italian House of Representatives. Currently studying at the Royal College of Music in London, Pietro has recently established a collaboration with the Orchestra dell'Arte in Liverpool. He has played in Liverpool's St George's Hall and given solo recitals in a range of other major concert venues.
In Market Drayton Pietro will open with Mozart's Piano Sonata in F major. Shorter Chopin pieces will follow, including Ballade No 4, described as the "most exalted, intense and sublimely powerful of all Chopin's compositions." Pietro's programme will culminate with Sonata No 2 by romantic composer Robert Schumann. Demonstrating great variety and virtuosity, it is a piece hugely enjoyed by both audiences and performers.
We're privileged to present such an accomplished young pianist on the Festival Centre stage -- an occasion not to be missed.
