Introduction

JOB VACANCY - VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR

15 hours per week, flexible working times - £15 per hour

Short-term contract for up to 12 months (Maternity Cover)

We have created an exciting new role at Festival Drayton Centre as Volunteer Co-ordinator, and we are now looking for someone who has a commitment to supporting and valuing our 100+ volunteers in our multi-purpose, community-based and volunteer-led charity.

In this role you will assist the Centre Manager with the recruitment, support, training and development of volunteers. You will initiate ways of sustaining existing volunteers and recruiting new ones, with a view to ensuring the Centre has sufficient volunteers in the right roles to give strength and resilience to FDC operational delivery. You will lead on communications with volunteers such as newsletters and as part of the wider staff team support events and campaigns focused on volunteers.

For this role you will have experience of working with volunteers or as a volunteer yourself with skills to manage a team of people. You will have excellent communication skills and have confidence to lead on new initiatives.

This role is for a maximum of up to 12 months to cover Maternity Leave.

It is 15 hours per week with hours worked to be flexible in order to engage with volunteers at different days/times. This is not a Home Working role as you are required to be present at the Festival Drayton Centre. For a Job Description and more details please email us at info@festivaldraytoncentre.com or call us on 01630 654444.

Closing Date is 13.00 on 25th March 2024

The Festival Drayton Centre is a community owned building that has evolved as a direct result of the time, dedication and commitment of many volunteers. The benefits of being a volunteer at the Centre can be quite simply life enriching. Whether you wish to make new friends, learn new skills or just be part of our successful and professional establishment, the Festival Drayton Centre will fulfill your needs.

The Centre provides wide-ranging facilities which include a state-of-the-art theatre for movies and live events, meeting rooms for conferences, a licensed coffee shop and an extensive arts and leisure programme.

Originally brought into community ownership in 1984, the Centre underwent a major extension and refurbishment in 2004, resulting in it becoming the Best Regional Winner of the West Midlands Market Towns Award for regeneration in 2006.
